Spring 2012 Service Project

From March 12 – 24, 2012, Other Paths will be leading a team of volunteers and students from Amy Biehl High School in Albuquerque, NM to Machakos, Kenya to participate in our Spring service project.

We will be implementing clean water storage and sanitation facilities for our newly constructed health clinic in the Kiima Kimwe region, about 12 kilometers outside of Machakos Town. We will also be conducting a population health survey and be reviewing local strategies for land use. Our service trip will culminate in a World Water Day celebration in Kiima Kimwe, where we will explore ways in which water and food are connected in the region.

We are proud to be working side-by-side with village, tribal, and government leadership to collaborate on sustainable, focused solutions that address the needs of the 10,000+ people in our service area.
